When Richard Penniman from Macon, Georgia transformed himself into the flamboyant phenomenon known as Little Richard, Rock & Roll would never be the same. A true American innovator, singer and pianist, Little Richard's hits dominated the charts in the mid-50s. As his sound emanated from radios across America, it converted a nation to Rock & Roll. His renditions of "Good Golly Miss Molly," "Long Tall Sally" and "Tutti-Frutti," have no equal (ask Pat Boone). Truly a legend, we can hardly wait to hear his resounding "woos" here at American Music Theatre.
